“WHEN SAVING BECOMES STRENGTH: THE POWER OF COMMUNITY, COURAGE, ANDCHANGE” — Anita Banda’s Story

In 2024, Anita joined the Temwanani Purpose
Group, a VSL group supported by FLORESTA
in Malawi under the Lwafwa Watershed
Transformation Program, funded by Plant With
Purpose. The group has 16 members, 11 women
and 5 men, and it marked a turning point in her
life.
During her first VSL cycle, Anita began buying
shares and later accessed a loan of MK 500,000.
She used the money strategically, purchasing
four bags of fertilizer, both basal (NPK) and
top- dressing ( urea). The remaining funds
helped her buy food for her household and pay
